The big picture of a small space

I thought I'd start with some garden tours.

The back yard is the biggest space so let's start with the view from the back porch. We used to have a hedge but we replaced it with a fence a couple years ago. The hedge required a lot of pruning and took up a lot of space. The advantage is that now I have great vertical growing space.

There are a few distinct areas here. The central oval with the tree, the back perennial bed, the rose wall on the left, and (behind me), an espaliered apple tree. We'll visit each area and see what's blooming in the next few days.
